Bicycle or on foot

From Svolvær havorama you can travel safely on foot and by bike if you are going into the center of Svolvær.

Did you know that it is us in TEFT who have financed the extension, lighting and walkway through the tunnel or the so-called "Perleporten" into the center of Svolvær?

Once upon a time, when we were called Ballstad bygg and Torbjørn wanted to start construction on "Moltebærholmen", he was out on an inspection here. Even Torbjørn thought it was a bit disgusting that so many school classes and small children were traveling through the narrow, dark and well-trafficked tunnel. It so happened that the finest bathing place in Svolvær is just beyond Svolvær havorama and therefore small and large children often went out here. Since we in TEFT or when Ballstad Jernvare had intended to build out here, we had to pay for the footpath up to Svolvær Havorama and the extension, footpath, lights and railings through the tunnel so that our residents and everyone else could travel safely.

If you have your own boat at the floating jetty, you can easily take the boat when you go to the center of Svolvær or perhaps you want to take a trip to the beautiful fishing village of Henningsvær?

In any case, it is perhaps best to take the boat on fine weather days if you are going here or there, but it is certainly a great opportunity to have!

By Air

Svolvær Airport (SVJ) is 4 minutes south of Svolvær Havorama. The airport here is one of the so-called short-haul networks in the north and is served by Widerøe and only has domestic flights.

If you are going onward, you can fly from here and make a stopover and change planes at Bodø Airport, which is a larger airport with far more departures. You can also choose to drive to Harstad/Narvik, Evenes Airport (EVE) which has both international and domestic flights.

Hurtigruten/Havsula

From the center of Svolvær, the Hurtigruten or Havsula runs once a day with departures south and north along the Norwegian coast all the way from Bergen to Kirkenes.

Public Transportation

Bus connections are available throughout Lofoten, but can be very varied. Therefore, always check the local transport companies' timetables.

Taxi

There are several taxi ranks in the center of Svolvær, and transport within Svolvær and nearby areas is possible. We recommend booking a taxi if you want to be sure that you will arrive at the given time.
